Ford 3000 tractor problems

New User. Jun 12, 2018. #1. Trying to adjust dual clutch on a 1968 (I think) Ford 3000. Shop manual specifies 2.110" from PTO disc hub to top of lever adjusting screws plus or minus 0.010" and a "G" gap of 0.050 to 0.054" (for my particular model) at release lever strut. How critical are these measurements?

I pulled the gauge cluster, disconnected the tach cable from the tach and started the tractor. The shaft in the cable spun. I reconnected the cable to the tach and reinstalled the cluster. I believe this tractor has a fuel pump. Pull the line off the carb and crank the engine should get good pulses of fuel out line, at least a 1/4 cup after 5 seconds of cranking. If you find the flow is minimal which would really be only a dribble the way your engine is responding you will have to figure out where it is blocked.

When I press the pedal about 1" or 2" from the floor I can change the gears (with pto running).
